Did you know Hyperion, our parent company, has their 25th anniversary in 2019? To celebrate this milestone, and to give back to the communities they reach, Hyperion is launching their new global charity initiative called Million for Million (M4M). Our teams at DUAL are excited to take part in this event. The goal of M4M is to raise $1 million by completing one million kilometers worth of activity in 2019.

The fundraising efforts will focus on four main pillars: cancer, mental health, the environment, and poverty. Therefore, the money raised from M4M will go to four special causes: Black Dog Institute, Cancer Research UK, InteRed and Plastic Oceans. Each cause is located in a different geography to ensure that M4M is truly global in scope. The Hyperion Foundation is matching what we raise, dollar for dollar.

What does this all mean for your local DUAL office? Throughout 2019 you will see us partaking in fundraising efforts; whether it’s a sporting activity, a race, a pub quiz, a bake sale, or whatever else our creative employees plan. To give you some ideas, our Naples headquarters will have a team in the Tough Mudder, Fantasy football leagues are donating money, we have participants in Relay for Life, and the Alzheimer’s Walk. We sincerely hope you consider donating and joining us for some of these events. These plans are just the beginning of what is going to be a very busy & exciting year for M4M and DUAL.

To kick it all off, sixteen riders from across the DUAL and Hyperion Groups will be participating in a massive bike ride they are calling, “From Rain to Spain.” The riders are leaving from London, heading across the channel before pushing down the beautiful west coast of France, cutting right to tackle two days in the Pyrenees, and then dropping down to Barcelona. That’s about the same as riding from New York to Atlanta to give you a better picture of how far they are going!

Representing DUAL North America in this trip are Kieron Joy (COO) and Tom Owen (Division Leader – Specialty Casualty). They have been training tirelessly for months to be prepared for the September 28th start date.  Since it was started in 2014, The Hyperion Foundation has provided focus and impetus for the fundraising activities of its employees. The Foundation aims to improve and build the communities we live and work in and support the charities and projects of their employees. DUAL is prepared to hit the ground running in 2019 and support these genuinely worthy causes while being engaged in our communities all over the country.
